This July, 27 university students from two countries gathered in Valladolid, Spain, to answer a question at the heart of modern industry: Can artificial intelligence revolutionize warehouse management on the factory floor?

Over five days, students toured four major companies including Celonis, Qrypt, IBM and SAP, getting hands-on experience with the technologies shaping modern business. At IBM, students worked through a design-thinking exercise built around an imaginary persona, then tested motion-tracking technology used at the U.S. Open.
Management major hones HR skills through competitive Home Depot internship
Out of over 24,000 applicants, less than 1% landed a role with Home Depot this summer. Georgia College & State University senior management major Mia Morrow was one of the select few. Over 11 weeks she honed her skills and gained new ones as part of the corporate human resources process and strategy team.
From the coast to the canopy: GCSU Business students explore corporate sustainability in Peru
This summer, 12 students from the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business & Technology at Georgia College & State University embarked on an unforgettable journey through Peru. The study abroad program, led by faculty member Jehan El-Jourbagy, challenged students to examine the intersection of global commerce, environmental stewardship and cultural preservation.
A GCSU odyssey: students learn international business law on Greece study abroad
Move over Matt Damon. Seven Georgia College & State University students went on their own odyssey this summer as they traveled to Greece for a study abroad on business law and ethics in the cradle of Western civilization. Offered through the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business & Technology, the three-week program taught students how law, corporate social responsibility and sustainability intersect to influence Greek business operations domestically and internationally

Bobcats by the Sea: Georgia’s ports are driving economic growth with help from GCSU alumni
Georgia’s ports are among the busiest in the world in both size and volume. The ports have a multi-billion-dollar economic impact, accounting for one out of every nine jobs in Georgia. Behind the cargo containers in Savannah and Brunswick, specifically, Bobcat alumni are at the helm.
World Cup welcome: GCSU alumnae leading tourism throughout Georgia Fifa World Cup Atlanta
Georgia’s already booming tourism industry is set to receive a jolt over the next month with Atlanta serving as a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Samantha Joiner (’23) will be in the middle of the action as a public relations specialist with the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB). Her organization is working alongside the Atlanta Sports Council to ensure the city shines brightly on the international stage.
